On July 1, 2022， Shenyang publicity and practice activities themed ecological environmental protection were held at Guohui New Eco-energy Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Luen Mei Quantum (600167.SH).   

These activities were co-hosted by Shenyang Municipal Ecological Environment Bureau and Shenyang Environmental Protection Volunteers Association, which publicized the energy conservation and emission reduction, and discussed actual cases centering on "low-carbon life, reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, and what can we do".

As introduced, the serial activities have been officially launched since February and will run throughout the year as Shenyang is working to build a national civilized city. By practicing these activities, Shenyang aims to advocate the philosophy of ecological environment protection and mobilize all sectors in society to practice the green development concept and, shoulder the responsibility of environmental protection together, so as to improve environmental quality and make the city and country a more beautiful place to live in. 

During the event, Zhu Pengcheng, Secretary General of Shenyang Environmental Protection Volunteers Association, introduced the concept and meaning of "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality". Also, he expounded on how to live a low-carbon life and the significance of it, as well as the conduct code for citizens concerning eco-environment and how enterprises can work green.

Zhu Pengcheng pointed out that low-carbon life is not only about how we live but also about the environmental responsibility of sustainable development. He hoped that more and more people will get to know more about low-carbon life and practice what we learn about it, develop a new outlook on life and consumption, reduce carbon emissions, and promote the harmonious development of man and nature.

In addition to the publicity of the knowledge about energy conservation and emission reduction, promoting the cases of pollution reduction and carbon reduction was another focus of the activity. The organizer of this event -- Guohui New Eco-energy Co., Ltd is a typical champion of low carbon production and emission reduction.

It is learned that Guohui New Eco-energy Co., Ltd is a high-tech enterprise under Luen Mei i Quantum. As early as 2007, the company set to work on the recycling of urban sewage and use self-developed patented technology - heating technology of centrifugal heat pump

-to invest and launch a reclaimed water resource heat pump project in Yuhong New Town, Shenyang. In 2008, the project was rated by the State Ministry of Construction as a demonstration project of applications of renewable resources building. In 2015, the project was listed in the "Key Energy Saving and Emission Reduction Technology Catalogue" by the Liaoning Provincial People's Government, thus being vigorously promoted throughout the province.

Guided by the "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality" goal, in 2021, Guohui further expanded and put into operation a reclaimed water source heat pump station with a designed heating capacity of not less than 35 MW, which can heat an area of 3.1 million square meters with zero carbon emission after connecting to the original projects. This is one of the largest projects of its kind in China, serving as a valuable example of the comprehensive use of urban wastewater and clean heating with zero carbon emission.

The new project will still use the reclaimed water from the Shenyang Xiannvhe wastewater treatment plant, which will make the consumption of reclaimed water increase by 168,000 tonnes per day and hence reduce the consumption of standard coal by 13,000 tonnes and carbon dioxide emissions by 35,000 tonnes per year. It will contribute greatly to energy-saving and carbon reduction, according to Bian Fuzhong, the general manager of Guohui.
