Recently the Bureau of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Shenyang City issued a circular publicly honoring enterprises and individuals that had fulfilled various heating tasks and showed extraordinary performances in the heating season. Of Luen Mei Quantum, five subsidiaries and 17 employees were thus honored, indicating the full recognition of Luen Mei Quantum, a leading clean heating enterprise, by the local regulatory government agencies. 

As shown in the circular, 11 of the thermal power enterprises in Shenyang City were honored as “Excellent Heat Supply Institution for 2020 – 2021”; they included two subsidiaries of Luen Mei Quantum – Guoxin Environment Protection and Hunnan Thermal Power respectively. 

The 2020 – 2021 heating season in Shenyang City was an extraordinary one. When the operation nearly reached the two-month point, the city was hit by the Covid-19 breakout. In January 2, part of Minglian Street in Huanggu District was designated as a key lockdown area. Santaizi Market Regulation Office Water Diversion Central Heat Exchange Station managed by Guoxin Environment Protection belonged to this area; it was responsible for providing heating service for 11 residential complexes, of which Jiye Flowers and Yihai Sunshine were collectively designated as an area of mid-level and high-level risk. 

Guoxin Environment Protection actively responded to this unexpected pandemic. It went all out to ensure the smooth operation of heating service until the reopening of the designated area of risk; it achieved uninterrupted heating service and zero infection, contributing to the pandemic prevention and control for the area. This was fully recognized by the office of the emergency response committee of Shenyang City, which honored Bing Zhidong, head of Water Diversion Central Heat Exchange Station who worked for 16 days at the central heat exchange station, as “extraordinary contributor”. 

Likewise, Xinbei Thermoelectric, a subsidiary of Luen Mei Quantum, was honored as “Exemplary Heat Supply Institution for 2020 -2021” by the bureau of housing and urban-rural development of Shenyang City in recognition of its tireless effort to fulfill its corporate social responsibility. In December 2020, trouble happened to the heating equipment at the outpatient building of the First Affiliated Hospital of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It should have been fixed by the logistics department of the hospital itself. After they had tried to troubleshoot many times but failed, they had to ask for help from a professional thermoelectric company. On receiving the request for help, Team 56 of Xinbei Thermoelectric Third Heat Supply Station wasted no time to reach the hospital. The team actively guided the hospital’s maintenance personnel in identifying and removing the trouble; the indoor temperature there soon went up to 20 degrees Celsius in this outpatient building of a designated pandemic-battling hospital, bringing “warmth” to both doctors and patients. Mr. Sun, chief of the Logistics Department of the hospital, appreciated this “special repair” service in such a special period. On January 11, he arrived at Xinbei Thermoelectric and handed a silk banner to the hands of Chen Aiguo the general manager as a token of his gratitude to the company on behalf of the hospital.   

Heat supply, as a major work for people’s livelihood, is related to the quality of life for myriad households; the handling of complaints about heat supply is an important indicator of the real quality of service. According to Bureau of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Shenyang City Circular about Honoring Exemplary Institutions and Individuals in Heat Supply Complaint Handling for 2020 – 2021, Guorun Low-carbon Thermal Power and Hunnan Thermal Power were honored as “Exemplary Institution in Complaint Handling for 2020 -2021”; Lin Lina, director of Customer Service Department of Luen Mei Quantum, was honored as “Extraordinary Contributor in Complaint Handling for 2020 – 2021”; seven other employees of Luen Mei Quantum were honored as “Exemplary Individual in Complaint Handling for 2020 -2021”. Luen Mei Quantum is known for its continuous innovation and upgrade in technology and management, which is an important guarantee for it to keep on improving its quality and level of heating service. 

Besides, as indicated in the circular, the Emergency Repair Team of Hunnan Thermal Power was honored as “Excellent Heat Supply Emergency Response Team for 2020 – 2021”. Four employees from Luen Mei Quantum subsidiaries were honored as “Model Heat Supply Worker for 2020 – 2021”; three as “Excellent Team Leader in Heat Supply for 2020 -2021”; two as “Excellent Emergency Repair Team Member for 2020 -2021”.

A relevant person in charge from Luen Mei Quantum said that these honors were recognition and also encouragement. As the heat supply system is an important part of the utilities, Luen Mei Quantum will stay true to its original mission and actively deliver its responsibility in people’s livelihood and development promotion. Guided by the goal of “peak carbon emissions and carbon neutrality”, it will fully release its potential and actively make business deployments in the fields of biomass energy, geothermal energy, hydro energy, and energy storage in a bid to build an integrated energy service system and smart operations system and make new contributions to attaining the goal of “peak carbon emissions and carbon neutrality”.
