On April 20, Zhang Lei, member of the Standing CPC Committee of Liaoning Province and secretary of CPC Committee of Shenyang, visited Hunnan Thermal Power on a tour of learning about the construction of the eco-friendly coal shed and its use at No. 2 Heat Source Plant. He was accompanied by Li Jun, leader of Shenyang City; Pei Xiyang, chief of the city’s bureau of ecological environment; Shan Yi, secretary of CPC Committee of Hunnan District; Liu Jing, chief of the district’s bureau of ecological environment; Zhang Xuesen, executive president of Luen Mei Quantum; Sun Zhiqiang, general manager of Hunnan Thermal Power. 

At the entrance to the coal shed at No. 2 Heat Source Plant of Hunnan Thermal Power, Zhang Lei inquired in detail about the design scheme and construction of the coal shed and the effect of its use. When told that the shed was completed and put to use and helped to improve the living environment of the residents nearby, he highly approved of the effort. He stressed that great importance must be attached to environment protection as it is closely related to people’s lives. 

Zhang Xuesen briefed the visitors on the heating area covered by Hunnan Thermal Power, measures assuring heat supply in the heating season, and repairs and technical improvement in the non-heating season, as well as the work by Luen Mei Quantum in improving clean and efficient coal utilization and the use of new energy in line with the goal of “peak carbon emissions and carbon neutrality.

Zhang Lei pointed out that the enterprise must, in a new development situation, intensify its effort in innovation; that it must build on the current achievement and have a long-term mindset; that it must expedite its green transformation and upgrade and help Shenyang on its high-quality development path on the basis of eco first and green and low-carbon growth.
